Storytelling

'Storytelling', written by Oliver Emmanuel, was performed at the Oran Mor as part of their world famous 'A Play, A Pie and a Pint' theatre productions. Directed by Finn den Hertog, assistant directed by Hope Kennedy and performed by Francesca Hess and Martin Donaghy.

Two people are trying to tell the story of Robert, who isn’t sure who is in charge of his own narrative and whether he even wants to be in the story of his life anymore…

Storytelling is a new comedy-drama about being able to overcome our lowest moments in life by telling stories, and how they might possibly save us all.

'What else is there to say?

Not much.

Except to pick up a few random threads.

The watch worn with the face down. A rubbed earlope. Tissues kept in a left-hand pocket. A small hole in the centre of a man's chest about the size of a pound coin.

These are the small things.

Details.

But details are what give a story life and the things we remember when we tell the story of our lives.

The details are what count.

The details are the good bit.'
